Hook & Ladder is the unexpected steakhouse you’d never thought you’d find in the historic, original firehouse of the Washington Fire Company. This is a one-of-a-kind Skybar experience allowing guests a close view of our 149 year old firehouse, bell tower and original stained glass windows. A unique cross between a chop house and Crudo bar, Hook & Ladder features Certified A5 Japanese wagyu beef that will melt in your month. Dry aged Steak offerings including 32 days dry aged Porterhouse (28oz), 32 days aged Tomahawk Ribeye (40oz) that will taste decidedly beefy, much like a rare roast beef, while also taking on subtler hints of other delicious flavors. Crudo uses the Japanese technique of curing the fish making it more tender and flavorful. Finishing it with lime, lemon, and soy; featuring Wild King Salmon, Japanese Madai, Hamachi and more. Enjoy the purest and fresh take on some classic cocktails.

Pietramala is a little restaurant located in Northern Liberties celebrating plants, wood-fire cooking and seasonality. We offer a small, regularly changing menu based on the highest quality, organic ingredients grown or made with care in Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic. Our Italian leaning, but globally inspired food is always presented simply with familiar flavors achieved in creative new ways. Often touched by fire, smoke or fermentation to unlock unique flavors, our dishes sometimes require days or even months of preparation. We pride ourselves on our open kitchen, where our wood-fired hearth takes center stage, and our commitment to friendly service and warm hospitality in an intimate, but lively atmosphere.     Nice atmosphere. Excellent food. Appetizer Buffalo shrimp, came out right away. Delicious! Received hot towel, to refresh with. Dinner took a little longer than expected. Server was polite and apologized. My shrimp scampi was yummy!

    I was a bit skeptical since I’m predominantly a junk food vegan, but the shogun black maitake with upstate abundance mashed potatoes and tiger eye bean miso absolutely blew my mind. I almost ordered a second one.

    It was our first time at Hook and Ladder but it won't be our last. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was lovely. We were one of the first tables of the night to be seated and I wasn't thrilled about being placed right across from the restroom but that was the only negative aspect of our evening. The spicy tuna starter was amazing and I had the Chilean Sea Bass signature dish which was out of this world! My husband had a steak and caesar salad both of which he raved about, and we shared the creamed spinach which was also delicious. We were so full that we couldn't even attempt dessert. Definitely a place we will visit again!!
