Founded in 2014 in Chicago by cousins Jared Rouben (Brewmaster) and Jeremy Cohn (CEO), Moody Tongue is built on the philosophy of culinary brewing, appealing to those with a discerning palate or, as Rouben describes, a "moody tongue." Utilizing his extensive culinary background and brewing education, Rouben approaches brewing with a chef's mindset.     The chicken spätzle soup was perfect on a cold day! Really enjoyed the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy substitute, and even the creamed spinach was delicious!

    My partner and I dined here on Valentine's Day - the host was super friendly and the restaurant accommodated us when we were stuck in heavy traffic due to the snow. Omar, our server, was very nice and the service was great. The food came out quick and was soooo yummy! The spaghetti carbonara and chicken were so good! Would totally go here again :)

    I took my mom for a Valentine's Day lunch. We went around 3 PM, and even though my reservation was at 3:30 PM the staff were nice enough to let me in. Granted it was a low volume of people eating at the time. We were sat near the windows which added to the ambience of our visit. The music made it feel like we were in an old fancy jazz club. I had the French onion soup and the chicken sandwich while my mom had the Walnut turkey club sandwich. Both sandwiches came with well seasoned fries. The food was delicious and our waitress, Annette, was very attentive and sweet. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely go again. I would highly recommend the Walnut Room.

    The chefs are brilliant. You absolutely need to go Omakase. The marinades, the subtle garnishes, the presentation — wow. I’ve eaten here half a dozen times and every time I’ve been blown away. I’m used to big city sushi in LA in Tokyo and this stuff hangs right in there with the best of them. Gochisousama deshita!!!💪🏼🙏❤️🇯🇵🎏
