A touch of class has been added to Danbury's restaurant scene with the opening, of this intimate restaurant specializing in northern Italian cuisine. Step inside and you'll immediately see the welcoming touches of owner-executive chef Johnney Mersieni. And he will probably be the person to greet you as you enter the dining room. Market Place Kitchen and Bar is a traditional American restaurant, operating with a theme of preparing all cuisines with organic and sustainable ingredients. The restaurant has a decent wooden décor, constructed with 300-years old barn wood from Brook Field's farm. Market Place Kitchen and Bar has a full-service banquet with modern business facilities for corporate events and meetings. Alex Lowe, the executive chef, has prepared a healthy menu for guests in Market Place Kitchen and Bar. Surf and turf is the specialty meal here. It is prepared with pork belly meat braised in duck fat for four hours. It is served with apple marmalade, caramelized scallops and house made kale chips. The ‘famous rigatoni Bolognese GF' pasta is prepared with sweet Italian sausage, milk-fed veal, pomodoro tomato cream, fresh ricotta, grana padano parmigiano cheese and fine herbs. The bar serves a variety of European wines and tap beers.

The menu is taken from classic recipes, sourced locally and given a twist. The items will be familiar yet distinct. You will find presentation to be clean and simple. Our beverage program is an experience in itself. Our historic bar will transport you back in time, and our bartenders will guide you on a journey of crafted cocktails, wines and draft beer.
