Backed by travel and research every few months we pick a new region from India to explore and discover new hyper regional cuisine. This season we are cooking Parsi menu, a delightful blend of Persian and Gujarati flavors, reflecting the rich heritage of the Parsi community that migrated to Gujarat hundred’s of years ago to call India their home. Characterised by its use of fragrant spices, dried fruits, and a balance of sweet and tangy flavors, Parsi dishes are both unique and comforting. Parsi food often features an interplay of textures and flavors, with influences from their Persian roots and adaptations to local Indian ingredients, creating a culinary experience that’s both diverse and distinctive. We are cooking some traditional celebratory dishes to popular Parsi Cafe dishes on our Parsi Menu.Please note our next menu change is in March 2025. We cater for all dietary requirements. Please let us know in comments if you are celebrating a special occasion.

Big Esso is an all-day bar and kitchen located on the land of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung peoples. We are beyond proud to be bringing Indigenous food and culture back to the banks of Birrarung (Yarra). This River was once an eel breeding ground; where shark, dolphin and stingrays could be found. ​ This place was a main source of food, hunting, cooking, and ceremony. By sharing food in this place, we hope to bring these stories back to life. ​ 'Big Esso' is an expression in the Torres Strait. It’s a slang term that means ‘the biggest thank you.’ This is what you say when you really want to express your gratitude. When combined, ‘Mabu Mabu & Big Esso’ is what you would say before kicking-off a celebration like no other. ​

    hands down my favourite restaurant in Melbourne. excellent service - warm and friendly. the food is superb from start to finish including the desserts (so often the weak spot of Melbourne restaurants). a good number of options and cooked beautifully. the wine list is off the charts. so many great bottles to choose from. could not recommend highly enough

    The vegetarian selection is still utterly rubbish. Why can’t there be one dish that’s actually not terrible or weird combinations. Also the slaw was pure mustard - the schnitzel was super crispy though

    Dining at the Brandon is always a pleasant experience. Knowledgeable staff helped us make good wine choices. Some of our group chose meals from the starter menu and were happy to have the portion sizes explained. We could converse comfortably because background noise was controlled by the venue. All elements came together to make our Christmas get together really enjoyable.
