Masuya Restaurant is located in a building, which has been designated as a cultural asset, on O’Connell Street in Sydney. This is the same place as the office of Kanematsu Gosho, the pioneer of Australia – Japan trades, was situated in 1980. Masuya Restaurant opened in 1993, then full renovation was implemented in 2006.The approx. five meters long sushi counter, designed by architect Robert Toland in ‘kabuki red’ with an idea of the stage of kabuki, has since fascinated not only local Australian customers but also various people with different backgrounds.A showcase displays more than 20 different sushi ingredients everyday including locally produced fish, which is purchased on the day. Other carefully selected ingredients are wagyu beef, free-range pork, and seasonal vegetables.     Everything was great! The staff are nice and welcoming, the food was delicious and the staff brought each dish out with great timing. It was Friday night, they had live jazz music and it set the mood nicely!

    Thank you for an amazing lunch, the service was exceptional and the food to die for. Especially the Prawns and the Toothfish (which is the first time I have ever eaten out and had it cooked perfectly). The Cauliflower Karaage was so beautiful and fresh it blew my socks off. Thank you again to all the team for a memorable dining experience.

    This is a great, must-try restaurant in Surry Hills! The food was excellent! It was the best bento box I've had in a long, long time. The ginger kimchi was so yummy and so was the soft shell crab don. The decor and ambiance were excellent as well. Will definitel be going back to this place. If you're in the area you must try it!

    It was my birthday dinner and the night was so lovely . The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious . I love sitting outside in the courtyard and my guests loved the evening Z thankyou so much for making it a perfect night for me and my friends and family
