A new, growing-led “British Tapas” restaurant from the teams behind Chef's Table and Growing @Field 28. The menu features an inventive and daily-changing selection of vegetarian, vegan, meat, fish and game plates, each dish is crafted from Field 28's daily harvest of pesticide and biocide-free heritage produce and specialist leaf, served alongside a selection of hand-crafted cordials, cocktails and wines. Lunch Offer : 3 Plates for £20, served at lunch Thursday-Saturday. Please note we are a separate restaurant to Chef's Table. AA 2 Rosette restaurant. The Forge Restaurant in Chester is one of Chester’s best restaurants with delicious food and unrivalled service. With a passion for wild, sustainable British ingredients, and a love of simple cooking over fire and charcoal. The Forge has its kitchen front and centre in the middle of this lovely, and elegant space. Incredible dry-aged beef and wild venison will be found in the maturation cabinets, awaiting their turn on the amazing forge grill, to be lovingly grilled and roasted over beech logs. Head chef Dan Regan, a passionate chef, heads up the young, vibrant team in the kitchen. Combining amazing, wild, sustainable ingredients from land and sea into sumptuous creations that form really memorable eating experiences. We focus on British ingredients, as local to Chester. Our venison, always a hugely popular part of our menus, is harvested from herds on estates that focus on improving biodiversity and deer health – a process we call Farming the Wild.

    This was a belated Anniversary meal as we have had a lot going on with Father in Law having a cancer related operation. The staff are all lovely but our main waiter was so intentive and made us both feel very special. His advice was perfect on quantity of meat and sides. Was always there topping up the wine and water. It was just what we both needed. A big thank you again.

    Lovely meal as always. We had a business meeting in town then needed to relax in a friendly environment Jess looked after us very well along with the unusually quiet Celso. Food and wine were great, an enjoyable day.

    We at arrived at the restaurant and took the lift to the 20th floor. Panoramic view of our amazing city . The service was second to none. We were seated at an amazing booth table would highly recommend. We were attended to immediately coat taken , napkins places on laps, drink order taken ! From start to finish we had six staff deal with us on our visit . The staff were outstanding each welcomes us and were professional and attentive they could not do enough for us. Lunch three course menu which had a fantastic choice with meals to suits all tastes. Ham hock terrine and sourdough chicken main with additional side of garlic mushroom and green beans. All the food was perfect full of flavour and just the right amount. Will be back soon can’t recommend it enough.
