In 1962, Johnny Harlowe made the jump from the silver screen to chef and owner of Dear John’s. Convinced by his pal Frank Sinatra, Johnny opened the iconic spot just a ways down from Sony Studios on Culver Blvd. It became the watering-hole for the Hollywood elite with Sinatra often in the corner playing the piano against the dark brick walls once lined with portraits of famous John’s. Seasoned chefs and entrepreneurs Hans Röckenwagner and Josiah Citrin have teamed up to re-open Dear John’s with an updated classic American menu and old-school cocktail list.

Guelaguetza is a restaurant, boutique market, and advocates for Oaxacan culture located in the heart of Korea-town in Los Angeles. Honestly, they did not disappoint with the service or the food. The waiter was very attentive and always checked on us. The food was nice as hot and flavorful. I would definitely come back to this location.

We have been to all of the their restaurants. We thought the food was even better in Westwood, and a wonderful addition to Westwood. We brought home our leftovers and ate them at home the next day, still delicious.

Hidden gem for Mexican food. Walking in I thought this place was a typical bar; tv screens and loud music. It was a bar, plus more! When the Micheladas arrived in large cups I knew we were in for something special. Our appetizers arrived- empanadas and tacos enchilados, they weren’t skimping on the meat. Next the molcajete filled with ceviche and the camarones pacifico, I’ve never seen shrimp that large. If your a seafood lover you’ve got to try this place. The service was good and the food packed a punch of favor. We will be coming back!!!
