Café Gabbiano located on Siesta Key was originated by the Migliaccio family in 2003 where is four sons grew in and out of the restaurant business.A second venture in downtown Sarasota was opened and designed by Pietro in 2012 named Casantica, a small old house converted to a quaint homey restaurant. Both restaurants are now under new ownership.Now, this small intimate place is where I can have fun serving and meeting new friends. Benvenuti.

The pasta dough is also made fresh daily. Revel in the authentic Sardinian paella made with fregola and enjoy the unique flavor of bottarga. Our small family owned place is open for dinner six days a week. Our dishes originally are from Puglia in south Italy: la puccia, focaccia, mozzarella, orecchiette, panzerotti and the sea food dishes, the famous Pugliese olive oil as well as the fine selection of wine are a must!     This was a special evening for Valentine's Day with a prix fixe menu. Each dish was wonderfully prepared with the exquisite desserts by Pastry Chef Stephanie Boswell and Chef Erik Walker knows how to make a short rib like no one else. The restaurant continues to impress and we love going here.

    We had another awesome evening at Blu Kouzina. After being ushered to an ideal table at the edge of the outdoor porch, we ordered their outstanding taramosalata, and saganaki with figs for appetizers. Both exceeded our expectations as usual! My husband can never resist ordering the lamb giouvetsi…and once again it was the best he’s ever had…and we eat a lot of Greek food. I had the chicken kabob…so juicy and flavorful, that I’ll probably order it again next time! Our server Ivana was wonderful and recommended an excellent Greek red to complement our meal. We’ll be back soon!

    Really great food selection here. We sat outside and we were there early enough for half priced wine which was great. Service was nice, but I think our server was a little young and shy. Didn’t really provide a lot of details, but was still a very nice server. I’m probably being overly picky with that. Highly recommend! We will be back.🔙

    Truly the best Italian food in The state of Florida. We have been a few times and we are from Massachusetts/RI line. We have some amazing Italian restaurants here at home. Pietro’s is way on top of the list. We go to Florida on purpose sometimes just to go to Pietros. Susan the owner is amazing and kind. Nothing bad to say because there really isn’t anything bad. From the moment we walk in to the moment we left. Top notch service.

    We had the following dishes: Sacchetti alle pere e zafferano, spaghettini alla carbonara, and veal amici. All were delicious! We also had wine and two people had cocktails which were also delicious. Our waiter, Nick, was very good and one of the owners, Massimo, was very gracious to us. We never have a bad experience at Cafe Amici.
