The Sitdown Café is a unique sushi bar and restaurant. The inside of the little bistro is cozy and comfortable, reflecting all of the neighborhood charm of a local diner. The staff here is friendly and helpful, always ready to offer a recommendationnn or answer any questions guests might have. The Sitdown Café offers a wide variety of dishes. The menu is broken up into appetizers, soups, salads, sushi, sandwiches and pizza. This kind of variety is unique, as most restaurants do not offer both sushi and pizza. Popular sushi rolls at The Sitdown Café include the Chicago Fire with tuna, salmon, white tuna, jalapeno and cilantro, as well as the drunken tiger with crab, avocado and cucumber topped with tiger shrimp and mango tobiko sauce.     I booked this reservation for my daughter and her husband to celebrate her 28th birthday. I sent a note ahead of time letting the restaurant staff know and they were very timely in responding back stating they would make her experience special. Well I’m so very pleased to report back that they both had an AMAZING night! They stated the food was fabulous however, even better was how they were treated by your entire servers/team. Thank you Rose Mary staff as I truly believe she had a very memorable birthday this year all because of your attention to detail and for going above and beyond. Absolutely incredible!! And I will be certain to share out their experience with others so they patronize your place as well. Cheers, Pam

    The short rib hummus and the truffled salmon were unreal. Harissa Bloody Mary was very good. The Brussels sprouts and the steak and eggs were tasty but nothing extraordinary. The restaurant is so beautiful which really add to the experience. The patio being open in the winter is great, but it could’ve used an extra heater or two in the corners. Overall I am excited to go back and try more things.

    Our Valentines Dinner was amazing, La Serre has a beautiful aesthetic and the food was impeccable and impressive and the drinks were amazing as well! But the highlight was the service my girlfriend and I received when we had issues getting in due to the weather and were late for our reservation. Wendolyn was able to move things around and still get us in at the bar and made sure we still had a wonderful Valentine’s. We are incredibly appreciative and will be back, and will be telling everyone we know they need to come as well!

    Had a wonderful time. We checked in for a birthday dinner, and the hostess inquired whose birthday it was and greeted the birthday boy warmly, as did our server when she came to our table to greet us. Everything was delicious. We had the Prosciutto and warm bread, fried artichokes, rigatoni amatriciana, the NY strip and the roasted romanesco. Highly recommend the artichokes and the rigatoni, just outstanding. We had 2 cocktails, both delicious, and the pistachio gelato (one serving is enough for 2 people to share). They had 2 glasses of prosecco brought out for a birthday toast. We will definitely be back. The pricing is standardly high on the food side, but that is to be expected these days.
