Play food & wine will make serious food fun and accessible to many types of guests by offering an inspiring menu, legendary service, outstanding values and a culinary home for our guests in which they can spend a variety of occasions. All of our dishes are modest portions designed to share. This allows guests to sample a few different dishes without having to commit to just one main course as in a traditional restaurant. Between the central locale afforded by its gracious home in the landmark Lord Elgin Hotel, a warm and yet contemporary ambience, a locally sourced menu and a casual-to-sophisticated stocked cellar, Forty-One has become one of Ottawa’s top new restaurants.Named Forty-One in recognition of the year, 1941, that the Lord Elgin was built, the restaurant features a modern environment and classic menu that is a perfect match for connecting with new and familiar faces. Guests are able to relax in the inviting lounge with flat screen TVs and large windows overlooking Elgin Street or enjoy an intimate dinner or a group get together in the dining area. With a capacity of close to 150, the restaurant features booths and banquette seating to allow flexibility to accommodate guest needs whether they are popping in for lunch, a quick after-work cool-down, a pre-theatre warm-up or an evening night cap. The shareable steak and ravioli Bianca is out of this world. I just can’t get past it. The only other dish I have ordered here is the Mediterranean bowl, which I couldn’t get past for quite a while either. You can’t go wrong on either of these dishes!

I was dining our with a group of my best friends for a birthday dinner. I wanted us to have a beautiful experience and it was. From Oliver's top notch professional French service and knowledge to the beautifully plated dishes the entire evening was exactly as I had hoped. The kitchen was able to accommodate one guest who wasn't able to choose from the menu and surprised us with birthday treats at the end. They really made it all about our experience. I will be back and would recommend Aiāna to those looking for a premier dining experience ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

As a table of former waitresses and bartenders, this was by far the best service we’ve ever had. Our waiter was attentive, polite, quick, and we had a wonderful experience. There was another gentleman helping out as well and he was also wonderful, he checked on allergies and made us feel at ease. Overall, the food was great, but the service ensured we had an even better experience. Thank you.
