Inspired by Italy’s aperitivo hour, when public squares and streets are filled with lively conversation, Portico serves handmade and authentic Italian fare in Sebastopol in western Sonoma County.A portico is a colonnade or covered walkway in classical architecture. Since the middle ages the elegant porticos of Bologna, Italy have a meeting place for the public as well as a place for business. Paolo Pedrinazzi (who is from Bologna) and Kat Escamilla, owners of the new Portico trattoria , bring this experience to Sebastopol. They even have monthly Regional dinner parties with live jazz.The setting includes an Italian fountain on their cozy patio. Portico offers light table service and counter ordering. Excellent Italian wines are sold in the restaurant at retail pricing; refreshingly unpretentious.     What a beautiful restaurant! Everything was top notch from the delicious meal, attentive service and overall ambience. The wine selection will satisfy anyone, the appetizers were plates beautifully and our dinners were outstanding. I can’t recall the last time i ordered chicken at a fine dining restaurant but so glad i did. A beautiful Wellington chicken breast baked to perfection. We will be back soon!

    Portico offered a wonderful Valentine's couple's menu that included 4 delicious courses for an incredible value in this day and age. We really appreciate them as one of the few restaurants that isn't trying to gouge their customers. And the food is amazing. We keep coming back.

    The service, the food were superb! The only reason I gave fewer stars was about half of the indoor dining area has uncomfortable seating. Bankette seats were too high yet tabletops ridiculously low. The tables in the center had low chairs and high tabletops. The booths are great and the covered outdoor seating is high quality. Friendly and attentive wait staff and delicious food. This place is right around the corner from my house and I want this place to be successful for many years to come.
