Join Landlord Stuart and Head Chef Helder for breakfast, lunch or supper at the Wattenden Arms. Built over 150 years ago we are a hidden gem close to the famous Kenley Aerodrome. Our “finest hour” was most definitely during the Battle of Britain in World War II, when we were commandeered by the RAF to serve as an auxiliary mess for Fighter Command at RAF Kenley. Today we serve a refreshing range of lager, ale & wines and a menu that reflects the great British pub, using fresh ingredients all cooked to order. We welcome the local & wider community, walkers, cyclists & four legged friends.

The Grape Variety is a neighbourhood, independent wine bar, shop and restaurant, selling great wines and food from around the world, located just 2 minutes from Chipstead Railway Station.We opened in the spring of 2018 with the aim that a wine bar should cater not just to experts, but to all, so we created one where our guests could unwind at the end of the day with a great wine in a warm, friendly and genuine environment, whilst getting sound advice about which wines to enjoy, as well as to take away.For food, we offer quality artisan cheese and charcuterie, alongside dishes such as baked Camembert, bakery sausage rolls, hot chorizo and potato, hummus with a spicy sauce, Spanish pâté and the like. On Thursdays, enjoy our wood fired pizza pop-up and our legendary Quirky Quiz runs every other Wednesday. Great Sunday roast with freshly prepared food. New owners are making this pub into a new favourite for us. There was also a really good live singer at just the right volume as background music and gave the place a lovely atmosphere. Good to see The Wattenden thriving and busy.
