Best restaurant in Maldon. Excellent food, lovely and clean and very attentive staff. Just the perfect amount of time between courses and never feel rushed. The 3 course deal on Sunday afternoon is amazing value and the kids loved their food too! Highly recommend this place!!

We have eaten here before but tonight they really outdid themselves. The service was prompt, polite and great. The food was tremendous - my partner had the Scallops and Pork Belly to start and the steak for main and both were great. I had the Venison to start and the Duck Breast for main and these were equally fantastic. Both desserts - the Tarte Tatin and Chocolate Torte - were also lovely. Great meal, one of the best we have ever had. We will definitely be back!

Lovely evening out again at this great restaurant. Tasty starters of short rib arancini and a shepherds pie - unusual starter but really works. Then treated ourselves to a chateaubriand to share for main course, which was prepared to our liking. Then finished with a nice selection of cheese and biscuits. A nice touch is that the front of house Harry remembered our drinks selection from a previous visit, however they also offered a chance to change to a different wine that they recommended. Service was not rushed but prompt when required and the venue was busy despite it being the evening before Valentine’s Day. This tells you a lot about the quality of a evening at The House by Hilly Gant.

The overall experience was really great. Our waitress was very friendly and the food was excellent. I thanked the chef as it was my birthday treat from my friends.

This is one of our family favourite places. Today was my 60th birthday celebration, and as usual the food was excellent. We have been going to Banquet for years and a change of ownership but consistently yummy food. Highly recommend
