A rural public house serving local beers, Berkshire gin and ciders, as well as a great wine selection. Bar snacks and full meals available 7 days a week. Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer. Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical. The Bear of North Moreton is a welcoming village pub in North Moreton, South Oxfordshire that dates back to the 16th century and has always been the heart of the village. We offer a humble menu of traditional home-cooked pub dishes, using the best local producers and seasonal ingredients. We serve a range of ales, beer, and cider and have a small and curated wine list. First visit for me and I will be back. One of our party had been before she recommended The Royal Oak as a place to eat. Food was great. The salmon wellington was very novel and my guests enjoyed their cottage pie. Really nice selection of food on the menu including proper pizzas to keep the kids happy. Loved the orangery and open kitchen. They over heard us saying it was our joint birthday lunch and surprised us with a plate of candles , ice cream and fudge with our dessert. Too classy for a badly sung rendition of happy birthday thankfully from the other guests 🤣.

Restaurant with stunning country side views. Fabulous meal for my wife’s birthday. Delicious starters of baked clams, gambas al ajillo and crispy sweetbreads. Followed by mouthwatering shoulder of lamb for two which feel off the bone and tasted fantastic. Excellent service from the attentive staff

The Denver steak was exceptional! The butternut squash soup with the leek butter on the bread was also delicious. Would definitely recommend.
