The Watermans Richmond is an all day Restaurant and Bar in the centre of town, conveniently located on an ancient cobbled street that leads down to the waterfront.Our food is the best of British ingredients, served with a nod to southern Europe, with favourite dishes ranging from scallop ravioli to fregola, veal chops and day boat fish. We also have vegetarian and vegan options as well as delicious puddings including tiramisu, poached pears and profiteroles.We have been the site of a Public house for centuries and still offer a selection of draught beers however we have an extensive wine list focusing mostly on classic wines from Europe.The Restaurant is divided into several areas: luxurious deep leather banquette seating, bar counters perfect for lunches and more casual dining and cosy fireside dining in our upstairs room. We also have two outside areas, a perfect spot for a drink or bite whilst watching the world go by.

Previously known as BBQWhiskyBeer back in our pop-up days, we have continued to cook using smokers, a charcoal oven and over fire on a grill. The menu takes influence from barbecue all over the world, smoking, roasting, charring and grilling, inspired by the smoked meats of great American pit masters; but cooked with a Modern British touch. Alongside the barbecue we are renowned for our incredible burgers - particularly our Burger of the Month (BOTM) which, as you can guess, changes every month. Third time we have been to Chez Lindsay’s and always had a good meal. Choice is limited ( excellent fish soup) but service is friendly and quick. Restaurant is small so tables fairly close together but didn’t find this an issue. Much nicer than the chain restaurants!

I love this place. Food good, mostly. But this time the dessert was not quite as hoped with a great deal of ersatz chocolate sauce on profiteroles that were supposed to be caramel, which was disappointing, but the burger and fish finger sandwich were excellent. The service was slow because of a very loud large group next to us who took priority. But we weren’t in a rush luckily. I’m looking forward to the lobster roll being back on as indicated on the website menu, but I always seem to go when it’s not ‘in season’ I am told.
