We proudly celebrate Scottish produce, working with Campbell’s Meats, the world-renowned IJ Mellis cheesemonger and Mark Murphy fruit and vegetables. Of course, we have a cocktail using Irn Bru and are pleased to serve Stewart’s Craft Lager, brewed out of Loanhead.

Back after more than a two year closure following the George IV Bridge in late 2021, Merchants has undergone a full refurbishment. Merchants serves Scottish cuisine in one of the most bustling areas of Edinburgh.     Bella our waitress is what made the evening a very good experience tbh she was friendly and helpful hardworking and we had a good laugh with her . Atmosphere was a little louder than we expected but still an overall good night for valentines night . The valentines menu was a good mix of light starters and deserts with a good size sharing meal for 2 as a main ! Service was exceptional Bella deserves a pay rise 😊

    This was me & my partners first visit, on arrival we had lovely lady welcome us then taken to our table by the waitress that was serving us whom explained the menu, food was absolutely delicious & presentation was also good. We also interacted with another lady whom was on her first shift, what a pleasure it was to chat to after asking how our meal was. Definitely be back.

    Easy to book and I was able to modify my reservation. Food was tasty and servings generous. Our server, Matilda was friendly and helpful. It was a bit noisy, in the Brewhouse Bar, but we soon got used to it and would definitely recommend and go again.

    A lovely experience at The Cheese Lounge, staff engaging, knowledgeable and kind. We did not want it to end! Shame it closed at 8pm ! We weren't aware of this at booking. However we understand it is a long day in the shop, we will return thanks again for a lovely evening of cheese and wine. Gillian
