   ジョージタウンの一角、オバマがメルケルをともなって訪れた、格調あるお店。料理、雰囲気ともさすが一流という感じです。アタイアはジャケット推奨となっています。ほかのお客さんはチノパンツにワイシャツの方もちらほらいたので、ビジネスカジュアルでよいかと思いますが、せっかくの高級店なのでジャケットを着ていくのが正解かと。あきらかに高級感ただようスーツをビシッと着こなした、ミドルエイジのグループがいましたが、セレブか政治家のオーラをばんばん放っていました。そういう人たちが絵になるお店です。ホスピタリティは最高で、私たちのつたない英語にも眉一つひそめず（アメリカではこれができない店が多い）、笑顔でていねいにお料理を説明してくれました。一皿あたりの量が少ないとの口コミを読んでいたので、私と妻はそれぞれ前菜を2品（ホットとコールドから各一皿）、メインを各自1品ずつ取りましたが、結果的にはやや多かったです。アメリカ人の感覚からすると少ないのかも知れませんが、通常の日本のコース料理の感覚からすると、多めです。私たちはお酒を飲まないのでノンアルコールのカクテルをお願いしましたが、これが美味しかった！注文した料理のほかに、食前の一口冷製スープ、パン（通常のとコーンブレッド、たぶんお代わり自由）、食後の一口アミューズがつきました。お水は通常のとスパークリングウォーターが選べます。 お料理：ポークベリーは、豚肉のパテをラズベリーのゼリーで包んだもの。ベリーの酸味と、まったく臭みのないパテの濃厚さが相まって、とても美味しかったです。皿が大きいため、小さく見えるかも知れませんが、日本で食べる同様の料理の倍程度の大きさです。 タコは、やわらかく煮込んだタコが泡を模したソースにひたっており、目にも楽しい一品です。味も最高！ メインのポークは三枚肉を外側カリッと、中をジューシーにローストし、そのまわりを脂身のない部分を焼いたものがぐるりとかこんでありました。味、盛り付けとも申し分なし！ 味、格調、ホスピタリティとも最高のお店です。DCのよい思い出になりました。くり返しになりますが、量が少ないというネットのレビューは、ビッグミールに慣れたアメリカ人の感想です。期間限定かも知れませんが$95のテイスティングコースもあり、こちらは量少なめで、あらかじめ決められた5皿が出るようです。

   Your Easter menu featured a good choice of selections. For us the outstanding dish was crab cakes. Our racks of lamb, ordered rare, were cooked right on target (unlike many restaurants that seem to fear "overcooking" orders of rare meat. The waiters were excellent - professional, polished, knowledgeable. Despite being seated at the middle of a line-up of three tables for two, we could barely hear the convesations at the two adjoining tables. I tried to do so, but, to my regret I failed, as I rather enjoy overhearing the other conversations (tongue in cheek comment). To our tastes, the interior of the restaurant is too dimly lit. Although today was a beautiful, sunny day, the blinds were barely open. It might just as well have been raining cats and dogs. and it was disappointing to

   Meal was excellent—though perhaps more food than we needed. Incredible crab cakes and trout. Loved the Baked Alaska. Mimosas were delicious. Our server was fabulous. Could not have been kinder, more informed or more attentive. Was a bit chilly under the vent and room was a bit dark. Wished we had had a table near the window(more light and ideally more warmth).

   Excellent experience. We ordered the wagyu tartare, carnival cauliflower, sea bass, and filet mignon…everything was Chef’s kiss! Service was awesome. Server was attentive and knew the menu and the preparation for each dish which was impressive. Other staff, stepped in to help with clearing dishes, asking for our drink order, or just assisting as needed. We were celebrating our 29th anniversary, thank you to the entire staff for helping to make this one memorable.

    Amazing staff service and even more amazing 1st courses and entree’s. Don’t miss the perfectly prepared Fois Gras with Cherry Mostarda on Brioche to start. Followed by the herb crusted Rack of Lamb with Tarbais bean cassoulet and escarole. You can’t go wrong with any choice here.
