   As we were overnighting at Melbourne airport we decided to treat our son and partner to a birthday dinner at Airo restaurant. We had eaten there before and not been particularly impressed. This time was different. Both the food and the service were excellent. Not a cheap option but on this occasion worth it.

   The pumpkin risotto had nuts in it which gave it a crunch but made it taste like the rice wasn’t cooked and the pumpkin didn’t have a nice taste. We requested a window table in our online booking but were not given a window seat.

   Food was good. Service was good until the Barman were so over worked. They were getting drinks wrong and then we have to wait 10 minutes to get a new drink etc just more service people

   A hidden gem at the airport. Quiet, classy, affordable and away from the hustle and bustle in the terminals. Great way to spend an hour or two if 'waiting to fly' or meeting perhaps a delayed traveller.

   My husband had the lobster entree followed by the pumpkin risotto and I had the pork belly entree then the Salmon for main course. All dishes were delicious. Service was impeccable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived earlier than expected and they were able to accommodate us with no issue. We will definitely dine here again.

    Overall a very pleasant evening. Service friendly but fairly infrequent. Food was excellent as were cocktails and wine. Reasonably priced.
