Our experience was not the greatest to say the least. We made a dinner reservation at the restaurant for 6:45 pm on Saturday night. We have an 11 month old baby who was with us so we figured it would give us plenty of time to be seated, feed her dinner at 7:15 pm and have her back home in time for her bed time at 8:30 pm. We arrived 15 minutes early to said reservation at Anamias with our 11 month old baby in tow only to be informed that Anamias does not take reservations and they do not honor OpenTable reservations. We found this to be very odd considering they had time slots and reservation times available for weeks into the future (see photos attached.)
My wife and I explained that our baby was with us and she needed to eat her dinner as well. If it was going to take longer than 30 minutes, we would just need to go home and come back another evening which again was no big deal to us. After being reassured by multiple employees at the hostesses stand that it would only take 15 minutes tops to be seated, we decided to wait. This is what we are so upset about.
After waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes we had to leave in order to get my daughter home, fed, and ready for bed. When I went to notify the hostess to take us off the list they said there was still 4 other tables in front of us. I am not so much upset about the whole reservation fiasco as I am about being completely lied to face to face. It’s hard enough being new parents trying to take a baby out to eat for a nice date night without having all of these additional obstacles thrown in the way by a restaurant. If you would have been honest with us up front we would have been disappointed but, we would have totally understood and come back again another evening. Now we won’t be coming back again. Folks wonder why so many places/restaurants are shutting down. It’s because young professional millennials do not want to spend their hard earned money at places that do not care about customer experience.
