The service was a little odd. It seemed like the lance was empty and yet they were in a rush to send us out. The main waitress also gave us the machine when we asked to split the check with no guidance. It was very odd.

All of the staff were amazing from the host down to the chef. I had a great time while visiting from out of town.

Really disappointing experience. Very different from a lovely lunch there only a month ago. There was zero atmosphere. The place was mostly empty. The server immediately told us they were out of many items in the menu. We ordered and he immediately came back and told us they were out of one of the things we had ordered—oysters. The sweet potato cooked in a cast iron pan was not sweet potato. The medium rare seared salmon was more like medium. The server seemed embarrassed about everything. It wasn’t really his fault. He came out with another piece of salmon—large but not exactly pan seared—because he said the chef felt bad. But we had already eaten.

We love eating at Art & Soul each time we come to DC. The food and service are superior. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Disappointing. The good: the tea itself (Queen’s choice) was great. The tomato on crostini was excellent. Service was attentive and excellent. The bad: the deviled egg/potato salad on…. Sweet shortbread. Stale red velvet cupcakes, stale éclairs. Overall, definitely not worth the price. Would not recommend, wouldn’t not return.

Fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented dishes, with something for all tastes. Nice cocktail selection. Sleek decor, and the tables were spaced so that you can have a private conversation without hearing everyone else's business. There is an outdoor patio, weather permitting. The servers and hosts are really helpful and nice. The prices are reasonable for DC. I happened onto Art and Soul when I was searching OpenTable for a place convenient to Union Station--I had a train to catch--but it will definitely be a deliberate destination in the future.
