Art Yard Bar & Kitchen at Bankside Hotel, on London’s culturally vibrant Southbank, is a local neighbourhood restaurant & bar serving seasonal food and drinks in a creative environment.

This all-day dining hotspot offers a menu of casual, but elegantly presented dishes, with a focus on fresh seasonal food with vibrant and healthy dishes. Guests can immerse themselves in art, surrounded by masterpieces and murals, and even watch an artist at work in the adjoining Art Yard Maker’s Gallery.

Art Yard Bar is open all day for whatever you are in the mood for. Cocktails, playfully inspired by colour, coffee, wine, the list is endless and carefully curated to stir a sensory explosion.

Sharing its patch with some of London’s most iconic cultural institutions, including the Tate Modern, Southbank Centre and Shakespeare’s Globe, Art Yard is a great spot to relax and refuel before or after a cultural fix.

Brunch at Art Yard also offers free-flowing culture inside and out. Inside art and murals adorn the walls, and then there’s the Maker’s Studio a permanent space where emerging artists can create and showcase their work. Downstairs in Bankside Hotel’s White Box visitors can browse our current art exhibition ‘Global Cultures: A Visual Journey’ curated by our art partners Contemporary Collective and DegreeArt Gallery, reflecting our passion and commitment to art, travel and community. Signature serves include Burford Brown Bennies, Chef’s take on the egg classics, made with Burford Brown eggs and served on a rich croissant base. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s a creative taco-style pancake platter and an indulgent pistachio tiramisu. Menu items are priced individually, add bottomless drinks from £22 - 26 per person (1.5 hours of unlimited drinks)

Lovely ambience, attentive staff and good range of dishes on menu. Risotto and veg very good, sirloin steak was a little disappointing, so taking off a star there.

The food was great and the service was fantastic until they switched staff and then it went to being absolutely awful. We were ignored, when we asked for things, we didn’t get it, they missed desserts, we had to get our own coats from their cupboard (after asking for them) and the lady who tried to open a bottle of wine, clearly didn’t have a clue what she was doing, broke the cork in half and the whole process was painful to watch. Considering how great it was at the start, it was a very disappointing end to the meal. Also they knew it was my birthday and did nothing special - very disappointing

Greeted by Lovely very friendly charming staff, in fact staff in the front of hotel were very friendly faultless. We met our cousins who arrived from New York so we booked a meal at the Art Yard. Very little portion of food for alot of money, little plate of pasta for £85 a couple quite a pathetic meal nothing to show for your money. Total rip off £170. for 4 portions. Didn't want to make a complaint in front of our family as they just arrived from a long journey. Clean shiny cutlery, crockery spotless lovely waitor, but nothing much to eat.... Extremely disappointed....

They even prepared a gluten free bread from scratch for us. Amazing service. Perfect menu, good vine. And the ambiance is not loud , allows you to to have a conversation. Very happy with that choice.

Great venue, tucked into a calm courtyard away from the bustle of London’s streets. This was a great location for a business meeting. The Menu was ample and the food was delicious. The staff were exceptional, super attentive; polite and professional. I look forward to my next visit.

Modern and inviting dining room but noise carried from the bar - couple loud talkers overtook our conversation at our table. Servers and bar staff are attentive and earnest but inexperienced.

Am just finishing up the Christmas Buffet. The food was old. Not sure how else to put it. The buffet is open until 10 PM, we showed up about 8:30 PM. Clearly the food has ALREADY been sitting out for a couple of hours without being tidied up or refreshed. For example, the main courses have clearly been sitting under heat lamps for hours, the gravy is nonexistent or clotted, the bread section is empty, the dessert table looked like it was half eaten, bits have fallen on the table itself, and the cream filled profiteroles were nice and warm (sarcasm). The glass of wine I ordered had more sediments at the bottom than a old fishtank. We sat near the entrance from the hotel side, I watched as people came down to order food and were told the the restaurant was closed for the Christmas dinner buffet, even though clearly the restaurant had less than ten people in it. Instead of letting people sit and order off the menu, I saw at least half a dozen families/parties order "room service" and stand around until their food was handed to them on a room service tray, and then they left carrying it back to their rooms. Why not let them sit and order and eat and get drinks from the bar? If I managed a restaurant like this, I would expect to be fired for incompetent mismanagement. What a missed opportunity for customers. What a sad, pathetic, poorly-run, nearly-inedible, antisocial Cristmas Dinner. It's going to be unforgettable, but not really the way you would want a holiday meal to be memorable. And there were plenty of staff- so clearly they weren't short-handed, that wasn't an issue. Somehow they managed to have enough staff to NOT serve guests particularly attentively. WTF. When the waiter asked me if everything was ok, I actually pointed out several of the issues noted above. He said, "I'll tell my manager," but nobody came by to make any excuses, which would have at least been... Someone making excuses. Nothing. I've got more to say, I'm out of room.

Lovely restaurant in a great location. Plenty to choose from and enjoyed the variety. Food could have been hotter but still tasted nice. Service was ok but not very attentive. The manager appeared stressed out because of the staff issues. Was surprised that service charge was added to our bill which appeared more than 10% of total bill and also it was serve yourself but the manager was very helpful in amending the bill for us. We left happy and fully fed.
