The Balcone Italiano Restaurant is located on the mezzanine level of the Bridge House Hotel at the heart of Tullamore and is one of Offaly’s most loved Italian eateries with native Italian chefs it brings a culinary flare to the midlands that hasn’t been seen before. I have been to this restaurant a number of times and it’s very good. Portion sizes big, lovely menu and good value when included in the Bridge House Hotel Package.

Please don’t waste your money here. We’re local and have eaten here a handful of times over the years. Never spectacular but typically decent enough food. We will never go back here again. Husband and I had a voucher for here. I would’ve been disgusted to pay full price for our dinner here. The only reason we ate the food was because we were both very hungry. Husband’s food was ok, mine was desperate. Don’t know what’s going on with the kitchen. Don’t order the mushrooms for starter if you absolutely have to eat here. Everything is bland and over cooked. Service is also not great.

Was very noisey not the restaurant fault but had we have know there was something on in the hotel lobby we would have changed our booking to earlier or later. We rushed our food we couldn’t even have a conversation. The restaurant staff even commented on the noise and apologised for it l.

Got 3 course meal. Starter Soup nice. Chicken wings bland no sauce. Main The mains we got chicken pasta and was extremely bland no taste whatsoever. Felt like cheep quality food. Dessert Chocolate brownie was ok nothing special.

As always food was delicious and well presented with exception of dessert which we found tasteless . But when I booked table I checked the menu to make sure it had duck on it as it’s something I love and seldom get , and when we went in on Sunday they had a special Easter set menu 😳 . There was no duck to say I was disappointed is an understatement. There was also no choice of desserts although the girls managed to find a brownie for my daughter. While we totally understand that it was Easter Sunday and a busy day we left that the menu was a let down

Food was delicious, restaurant was slightly chilly and where we were sitting staff were good to serve but we had to go to the front desk to pay, even though we did receive the bill from a member of staff

I had never been before and we went because we won a voucher in a draw. Our server was amazing she looked after us very well. She had short grey hair I didn’t get her name and I’m sorry I didn’t because she did her job very well. The vibe of the place was beautiful it was very quiet considering there was a dinner dance on downstairs. The food was unreal i had the steak and the most delicious brownie for dessert. 10/10 recommend, will be returning soon!
