    Wonderful setting and decor, the food and service were first class, but the evening was somewhat ruined by the sound system belting out electronica music, totally incongruous with the whole restaurant. Sad.

    The music was loud, though briefly turned a bit lower at our request. The food was ok but not great at all. My soup was not even lukewarm, it was just below that, so I didn’t finish it. For the main, I had ordered halibut and the fish that was served (with no explanation at all) was pink and also undercooked. It was definitely not a white fish. When we asked the waiter he went to the kitchen and was told they’d run out of halibut and had decided to substitute salmon. They offered to get me something else immediately which they did. The risotto replacement was ok but again, not great. When my husband ordered an espresso with a cognac on the side the cognac never appeared. It turned out that the cognac was in the coffee. Our server was very good but overall the service was slow. This was not the dining experience that we had expected in terms of food nor the professionalism of the establishment. We had read very good reviews and this was barely good. We were all unimpressed.

    The lobster risotto was just ok. The lobster was a bit slimy. Assuming under cooked. The risotto was too spiced. I had asked the server if it was and he said no. It was disappointing.

    Service was not good. Waiter didn’t even finish serving us our entire bottle of wine. They don’t leave the wine bottle at the table. They take it with them to come back and pour. My wife and I never received our entire bottle and had to find it on the server table and pour it ourselves before leaving. Waiter looked very much uninterested in serving us

    Stunning historical setting that is a must see for all looking for a fabulous dinner venue in Montreal. Servers lovely but service slow especially in bar waiting for drinks to be made, and in restaurant waiting on bill. Dinner with cocktails, bottle of wine, shared beet salad & halibut main courses each, with tip $375

    Service was excellent, attentive and gave great wine recommendations. Stunning setting. Food however was just ok...with so many great restaurants in the city this really wasn't on par. With that kind of price ticket the food should be part of the story to tell, not just the décor. Sadly, I will not be going back and would not recommend. The music was painful...switching from annoying modern jazz to pop songs such as the theme song to Men in Black... Aussi, il est très décevant dans cette ville de tomber sur du personnel qui ne parle pas un mot de français.
