                    With the closure of Jaleo I was extremely disappointed in the food offerings at Bar Mar given I had expected a comparable experience for Spanish cuisine. Sadly only three dishes on the whole menu would you find in Spain, the rest, whilst interesting can be found in any other American style restaurant. Chicago downtown deserves more authentic Spanish cuisine with sadly only Lil Ba Ba Reeba able to own this space.

                    My first time there, recommended by a colleague for a customer dinner. The atmosphere was good and we were seated pretty much on time. The wait staff was marginally friendly and somewhat brash when questions were asked were asked of her. As we finished dinner, we decided to skip dessert and continued conversations. A short time later, the manager stopped by and abruptly told us "he needed our table" and suggested a move to the bar. We responded by saying the move wasn't necessary as we wrapping up right then and would be on our way shortly. He persisted even more, to the point where it became a little embarrassing and uncomfortable as a customer dinner. I have no issue with reasonable time limits on tables, but they could be more polite about the situation. I would have second thoughts about going back.
