Inspired by the parrillas of his native Argentina and the hip enclaves of contemporary Buenos Aires, Chef Javier Bardauil brings the art of live-fire cooking to Detroit at BARDA — a modern steakhouse where ancestral traditions meet out-of-this-world innovation. The BARDA kitchen relies solely on a wood-burning grill and oven, ensuring that every dish is either flame-cooked, fire-kissed, or served raw, showcasing premium cuts of meat and high-quality seafood and vegetables prepared to highlight their natural flavors. The thoughtfully curated South American wine list and playful cocktail menu provide artful balance to the fire-infused cuisine.     The $70 short rib was VERY VERY fatty and not worth eating. Unfortunately, it sort of spoiled the whole experience. Drinks were good. Other food looked good. Not a great value.

    The design is very innovative and and it's nice to sit on the bar. However, the place is not soundproofed and it feels like a chicken coop. The girls at the reception were nice and the waiters were okay, but one of them was particularly arrogant, bordering on ridiculous. The food was overpriced considering the quality and originality of the meals (wood-fired meat that was hardly tender with bits of fat, a decent burrata dish, nothing more).

    Barda has been on my list of places to try out. The Service was attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! The cook on our proteins were excellent! The dessert was the best! Not cheap, but definitely a destination for a special meal!

    Food was wonderful and waiters were attentive and friendly. Little loud to talk but overall I liked the atmosphere!
