Barrio Queen is the best restaurant in Phoenix for authentic Mexican food and craft cocktails. Our food pays homage to history and culture by serving fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine using traditional recipes from barrios throughout Mexico. Layers of romaine lettuce, queso fresco, diced red onions red peppers, avocado, grilled corn cut from the cob, epazote black beans, pomegranate seeds and barrio spiced corn tortilla chips. Served with a side or our homemade creamy roasted chipotle dressing. Vegetarian.

A roasted poblano pepper filled with chicken, apples, pears, dried apricots, golden raisins, walnuts, onions and garlic. Covered in a delicate almond cream sauce, finished with the colors of the Mexican flag fresh cilantro, queso fresco, almond slices and pomegranate seeds. Served with chipotle mashed potatoes and calabacitas.

The Queen's acclaimed pork is marinated in sour orange and achiote paste, wrapped in a banana leaf and slow cooked all night long. Topped with pickled red onions and homemade pico de gallo. Served with fresh hand-pressed corn tortillas, Mexican-style rice and epazote black beans.

Our waiter was beyond horrible. He seemed irritated to do his job. My daughter & her boyfriend got waters and they both had to refills. He groaned several times like when I asked him refills on chips & salsa and my Arnold Palmer. He was grumpy, impolite and completely rude. We order sides of rice to which he ignored all together. The food was amazing. Hats off to chef and kitchen staff.

We’ve been here before but the new ability to make reservations is a huge plus!!! We had friends in from out of town and they loved the ambience, food and service…perfect evening!

We’ve eaten here many times. What’s happened? It’s not good anymore! The chips were greasy. Our tacos must have been up for a long time before they were served because they were cold and soggy. There was only a tater tot sized portion of fish in each of my fish tacos. The tres leches dessert was bits of pound cake layered with old strawberries and spray canned whipped cream doused in watery cinnamon milk. We won’t be back. So disappointing!
