Historic building with colourful interiors you wish that you had in your own house? Check and check - welcome to Bill's restaurant in York! Whether you've just completed one of the city's spooky walking tours or indulged in retail therapy along the medieval Shambles shopping street, Bill's is the perfect stop. We cater to all appetites with a menu that'll have you drooling on sight, with tasty options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's space for all, with tables big and small, plus a semi-private dining area for up to 20 people. Warm welcome, quick friendly service. Food could have been a bit warmer but wasn't a problem. We were in a hurry anyway

Our servers were very good and responsive. Food was very average. The decor was nice. The toilets were awful, filthy, rubbish everywhere and cold. Hope that this is not a reflection of the overall general cleanliness of the restaurant.( it does make you think!) In all honesty, I don't think would be in a hurry to book here again.

The staff tried hard to make it a nice night but the food was very poor. The sea bass was so overcooked it was inedible. All the food seemed like it had been cooked the day before and reheated. The kids burger was dry and the chips in one, solid lump. Bills used to serve good food but seems like it is cooked elsewhere and reheated to serve. Guys, simplify your menu and cook everything fresh
