Bistro Freddie is a 45-cover restaurant in the heart of Shoreditch showcasing the best in British produce and French wine.

The menu is inspired by classic British and French gastronomy. Expect seasonal starters, bold mains and pies to share, as well as larger cuts of meat cooked over fire.

Curated by Alex Price, Bistro Freddie’s all-French wine list focusses on real wines that reflect a sense of place. The wine list takes a deep dive into all corners of France, exploring a variety of styles, regions and producers.

Everything was great, only slight negative was that we were sat by the window and there was a bit of a draft coming through so it wasn’t that warm. Otherwise everything else was superb.

The restaurant was very particular about our arrival, yet we waited 50 minutes for mains. During this period, no one checked on us or explained the delay. When we did flag someone down, we were blamed for failing to order starters. Eventually, our food arrived. The fish was well prepared, the chicken was inedible. Highly recommended- the cabbage. The best part of an otherwise disappointing meal. Could not wait to leave.

Attentive staff and a nice atmosphere; food was good but not great and overpriced for the quality of ingredients eg steak tartare lacked flavour and was overloaded by tiny pieces of fried bread. The mains lacked real depth of flavour but were enjoyable. I enjoyed but not enough to return.

Lucky enough to try it through a Jan promotion - excellent food, wine, service, atmosphere. Very chic and Parisian. Look forward to coming back.

First time visiting and would definitely come back. Loved the food, great atmosphere and enjoyed sitting at the bar watching the chefs. Service was a little slow at times as was busy but they were always really friendly.

I’ve eaten at bistro Freddie before which was amazing. However with my most recent visit, we were really looking forward to having the steak. We went to order the bavette steak, however were recommended by the waitress to try a different ‘more tender cut’ called the Devon. However when it arrived it was really tough and we regretted this choice immediately. Unfortunately it tainted our anniversary meal which was a shame and we were to embarrassed to say anything to the waitress, as didn’t want to cause a fuss.

Food was excellent and service was very attentive without being overbearing. It is a small space so when it's full it can get a bit loud but we didn't find it distracting. Seating is also very close depending on where you're placed and some tables I just wouldn't put people there (one right by the door and one set next to the kitchen entrance). Dishes are priced quite high so the bill can stack up quickly although
