   Our server Cash was excellent. However it took over an hour to be seated. Although I booked this reservation online, I still had to put my name down on a piece of paper on the host stand and basically remake another reservation. In addition to that the manager at the time stopped seating anyone because the kitchen was “backed up” and only had two cooks. We were looking at open tables with no one sitting down and the host just kept taking reservations on the paper. When we asked the hostess a truthful question “should we go somewhere else since you aren’t seating anyone anymore?” She replied “my manager told me to hold seating tables till the kitchen gets caught up.” Then when we asked to speak to the manager she wouldn’t even go tell her we wanted to speak to her. Finally, when we spoke the the manager and asked if we could at least just sit down at our table to get off our feet and stop standing we were told the same thing “no, I stopped seating people to let the kitchen get caught up”. But when you looked around the few tables with people sitting down all had their food already. Made no sense. A 10pm reservation turned into us not sitting down to order or eat till around 11pm and us not leaving the restaurant till after 12am. While the server was good and excellent and made us feel welcome and the food tasted good. The hostess and manager sucked soured our experience. I don’t recommend eating here late at night or a night where it’s busy. You’ll spend more time standing and waiting then you will actually sitting down enjoying a meal AND they won’t take your online reservation.

   Arrived at time of reservation,Told us our table would not be ready for 30 minutes. Told us they did not have the alcohol we ordered as we were looking at 2 full bottles at the bar. Did not have the beer we ordered. Told us they did not have someone to shuck oysters after we waited 15 minutes for them and the others at our table had their food. Food was not good at all! Manager was completely unapologetic for any of it. Bad experience overall.

   This was a horrible experience! My group had an online reservation as well as a walk up reservation, two days in a row, we were turned away both times bc 1. They don’t honor their online reservation system LOL. 2. They said the lady who took our walk up reservation went home for the day so we were out of luck. Smh. Terrible customer service, and it’s unfortunate bc the food looked great, and the live music sounded amazing. I am very disappointed

   The people at the host stand took my name earlier in the day and when we returned they did not have the paper they wrote my information on and did not honor the info! Another friend had a reservation on the app and the app did not work at this restaurant!

   The service was super slow! It took us an hour to get drinks, which is a lot even for 15 people that are split between 2 tables. Then we ordered food and 4 couples ordered the gumbo on the menu. After everyone got their food at the table they said the gumbo would be right out. An HOUR after everyone had finished eating their meals we were still waiting and they finally came out and said “we can’t make it”. Then when splitting up the checks the food we never received was still on there. Absolutely ridiculous and so sad I wasted my time and money at that place.

   I went here to celebrate my anniversary at 10 promptly because they advertise that they’re open until 1 AM so you’d see the kitchen closing at about 12:30 or 12. However, that wasn’t the case for all items on the menu. We came in, were seated quickly but it took maybe 30-40 minutes if not more until we were greeted by a server, who never came back so then another server came to greet us and take our order. Maybe another 30 to 40 minutes or more waiting on food and mine was brought out but my partner’s never arrived. We were told afterwards that the chef, when presented with our order, wasn’t doing anymore oysters for the night and I don’t think the managers were too keen on instructing them to do so either. I just felt like it was very unorganized, we were wasted our whole night there and we left without eating the food that was brought out. I had ordered blackened redfish for $38, which came out on top of some vegetables I could’ve made at home. It was extremely overpriced (a tourist trap) and a bad experience to have at a new restaurant we’ve been waiting to try since it opened.

   The food was good , little over priced . The staff was not friendly at all . The drinks were ok not great . I didn’t like my experience their at all I do not recommend.

    If you're in New Orleans and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, look no further than Blue Bayou. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for an amazing meal. But what truly made the night was our fantastic server, who went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was top-notch. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and offered excellent recommendations. Now, let’s talk about the food – absolutely out of this world. The charred oysters were, hands down, the best we’ve ever had. Smoky, buttery, and packed with flavor, they were the highlight of our meal. It’s clear that Blue Bayou knows how to elevate classic New Orleans cuisine. Every bite was perfection, and it’s safe to say that it’s the best food we’ve had in NOLA.
