We arrived 25 minutes early for our reservation and found a very busy restaurant. There was some confusion about where to sit us as the Bodegas Meriquita Ribera is located on the river side of the old town of Cordoba and also offers outside sitting. To our immense relief the Manager, together with the Hostess, were able to think outside of the box and save the situation. While waiting for a space while they worked out an acceptable game plan we were offered some of Andalusia's famous Sherry which on a cold night went down very well. Upon being seated inside we shared a first course of a delicious cod, diced eggs and oranges. For the main course my partner enjoyed a large portion of lamb stew with couscous, nuts and raisins and I ordered pork loin dish. Both entrees were excellent, the meat being soft and without fat and the sauces being prepared properly and very tasty. For dessert we shared a local desert of a cake made from almonds and oranges. The Restaurant also offered an extensive wine list and we ordered a very good Sangria. The Bodegas Mezquita has several locations around Cordoba. We would definitely recommend visiting Cordoba for the architecture and the history and eating at one of the Bodegas Mezquitas for a memorable culinary experience.
