In 1946, Detroit-Style Pizza was born at Buddy’s Rendezvous Pizzeria on Six Mile and Conant street on Detroit’s eastside.     Buddy's is usually great. This time it was not. We had reservations but waited at the hostess station for 5 minutes until someone finally came but then didn't know where to wear us so we waited a bit longer. That was the best part of our experience. We were sat at the table and often the person seating us will ask if we want drinks or water. Not this time. We sat at the table for 20 plus minutes and NEVER had any wait staff come to our table. We finally asked a busser if they could find someone to at least get us water, and 5 minutes later nobody had come. At this point we all got up and left. Still no staff. I let the hosts know we were leaving and asked to speak to the manager just to let them know what was going on. Manager said they'd "just" been made aware of the situation. They did apologize but did not seem surprised. We are just so disappointed because Buddy's GR used to be good in all categories. We ended up at Ucellos, they were well staffed and food was good.

    Had a group of 11. Everyone enjoyed the salads and pizzas. Always a good choice.

    All five people in our party would definitely agree that the pizza was the best anywhere!! So happy that Buddy's is now in west Michigan.

    Very good pizza. Had planned to go out to eat on Saturday, 3/14 for Pie Day. My favorite pizza, the Ultimate Italian has been renamed The Woodward. Still a great pizza no matter what they name it.

    This is our second time to Buddy's and we have found the service to be terrible. We were seated quickly after getting in, however, it was 15 minutes before we had a waitress. They told us that there was a "miscommunication" as to who was to wait on our table. Then our order was incorrect (though they did not charge us for that pizza). I just find the service and overall ambiance to be chaotic. Pizza is good, but the service and overall confusion kind of ruins the meal. I have had carry out and I think I prefer that to being waited on....or not?
