Originally built in 1832 as the Cross Keys Hotel we have been serving the locals of Blaenavon and beyond for almost 200 years.

Absolutely love this place. Second visit for us and will most certainly visit again but i will share with you what the others thought of their first visit. My mother & sister in law both had the salmon and both said exactly the same thing. “Very small portion of veg” 3 small potatoes and a few peas was a shock when it was laid in front of them. Cooked beautifully and presented well but could give a potatoe or 2 more! Also my dad would like to see the good olde Gammon on the menu as I believe it’s available on a platter. That aside a lovely evening thank you x

We really enjoyed our meal, however, we were really disappointed that the only options were a Sunday roast. We booked the table in January for March, a 2 month wait, it doesn't mention anywhere on your website that on a Sunday you exclusively do Sunday roasts. We were extremely excited to try the steaks you have on offer and felt so disappointed that we couldn't have it.

Visited for the first time in a few months for Sunday lunch, the length of time being mainly because you have to book so far in advance due to them being fully booked. As usual food was outstanding, service was very quick and efficient, waitresses very polite and helpful. Atmosphere is always lovely, no matter what time of day or night you visit. We didn’t have room for dessert so they kindly packed it up for us to take home. Already booked Sunday lunches now up until next February, need our regular fix☺️ Cant wait until next time x

Took my stepdad for his 84 birthday and food was lovely and staff excellent. Especially want to mention Ethan who served us. Great personality and good with customers young and old! He is an asset to your business.

Delicious meals as always, great service. Lovely restaurant. Only problem is that it's so good it's very hard to get a booking.

Melt in your mouth meat and so tasty, good portion sizes and a wonderful ambiance cant wait to revisit, well worth the wait and the miles to get there, thank you to all staff who work very hard to make sure you enjoy every minute

Our first visit to Butterflies was a treat from start to finish. From its unassuming location, the warm, welcoming interior is a wonderful surprise. The staff are friendly, engage in just the right amount of small-talk to make you feel like one of the regulars immediately, without being over the top. The food? High quality, high quantity, locally sourced.. what more could you ask for? Everything came out in a relatively short time after ordering, three of us were so full we couldn’t face dessert, but the ones that did order had a huge plate of sweet goodness each too! Would we go back? We booked our next visit before we’d even left the table! Excellent.
