A cozy full service restaurant in the heart of Capitol Hill. With executive chef Joseph Nardo in our kitchen, and known Capitol Hill restaurant alumni Bart Hutchins on our floor; come and join us for cocktails, wines, and well composed french dishes in the evening. Or if you are an early bird, we have a full cafe and daytime service offering our house blend espresso, a beautiful selection of teas, and a separate daytime food menu to help you start your day. We are open Wednesday to Sunday. Our daytime service is 8am till 3pm, and dinner is from 5pm till late.

                                  The food was delicious, but first the bartender and then the server kept bringing us new menus, first an old cocktail menu, then an old dinner menu, then a brunch menu when we were there for dinner, then a much shorter menu… The menu is quite limited and the cocktail we loved, La Chose, was taken off the menu today. The server also tried to remove our drinks before we finished with them and we felt a bit rushed. The complimentary dessert was delicious. Still some opening issues to work through it seems.

                                  Our server was very attentive, the meal was not impressive, although it was pretty. Expensive for what we received.

                                  Fantastic. Excellent food—we ordered the whole menu, and there were no misses. Great cocktails and wine selection. The best place to dine on Capitol Hill.

                                  Absolutely one of the best dining experiences that I’ve ever had in Washington DC! The quality of the food, the ambience, the temperature of the lighting, all of the small details that have been thought of to create a warm and cozy environment exquisite! Everything about Butterworth’s is wonderful and it should be the main dining establishment for the city!

                                  Did not realize New Year's Eve would be a tasting menu, but it was worth every dollar. My only suggestion is that a restaurant such as this should have Port and Sherry available for after the meal.

                                  Not sure if they were having a staffing issue, but most of our food came out room temperature unfortunately. We got the focaccia, which was dense and overly chewy. The scallop was wonderfully cooked but hidden under a large puff pastry that seemed at odds with the rest of the dish. The pork belly dish was tasty. The rock fish was our favorite and the only dish that came out hot. Ambience was warm and cozy. Service was outstanding, albiet a little rushed. Would definitely come back for drinks but not sure about a full service meal.

                                  Butterworth’s was a cozy dining experience with a personal touch. The menu was an elevated version of classic comfort foods (I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup with truffle oil). The decor was icing on the cake. Highly recommend!

                                  A truly lovely experience. The ambience is exactly what we wanted and the food did not disappoint. The service was also exceptional. We will definitely be returning.
