The grand tradition of downtown dining finds a modern, casual elegance at Caldo Verde. Here, the James Beard Award-winning team of chefs Suzanne Goin and Restaurateur Caroline Styne blend local flavors and boutique wines with the old California influences. The stately setting offers a richly-designed entrance, lobby bar, main room, and private dining. Outdoor seating opens onto the bustle of Broadway, while historic windows bathe the architectural space in natural light. L.A.-based artistry runs throughout, from Morgan Peck ceramics and lighting, to a monolithic Judson Studios stained glasswork.

    Delicious dinner in the DTLA neighborhood. Great if you are headed to any of the theaters nearby. We had the Piri Piri chicken and the Caesar salad and both were worth having again. Also had terrific service.

    Saturday night, 9p it was dead as a doornail.. no vibe. Was planning to have dinner but ended up just having a cocktail and an app and left to have dinner at Little Sister which was hopping

    From the cocktails to the starters to the mains, everything was really perfect. Menu has some nice changeups from the typical Californian style menu and that was really appreciated. Staff was great and love that they are open late for dinner! Excited to go back and try more items from the menu.

    I left a message in the notes that it was a special b occasion and no one on staff said anything or acknowledged us. The winter salad was nice but the pineapple desert was too much sweet, and confusing with cake and meringue.
