Since 1987, California Dreaming has been a proud part of the Charleston, SC community. Our spacious, open setting features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the Ashley River, creating the perfect backdrop for a lively night out. You can also enjoy these panoramic views from our wrap-around deck, complete with a bar and easily accessible by boat. Whether you're craving low country favorites or our famous prime rib, California Dreaming is a favorite among both locals and tourists.

**Please note that we provide Advance Priority Seating to reduce wait times and expedite the seating process when your entire party arrives. To ensure the best experience for all guests, we seat groups of up to 6. While larger groups are seated separately, this arrangement is flexible during quieter hours.

I’m a Diabetic man and I paid for 4 persons. I wanted the three-itemed BAKED SEAFOOD PLATTER; but I was told that the only available meal was FRIED. I did not want the fried meal, so I had to change and forced into something that was either baked or boiled (like Salmon). I ended up with the Salmon meal, but I wanted the THREE ITEM BAKED SEAFOOD PLATTER..! NOT HAPPY (especially after shelling out $200.00(!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Well first we had a 1pm reservation and were seated approx. 1:40. Ordered food immediately and they managed to get 2 out of 4 completely wrong. Had to completely cook a burger again. Fortunately the food was really great!

We come here a lot because we usually like it. But last night did not see the regular General Manager there and you were able to tell the difference. Got there for a 7:00PM reservation that had special request of a window seat. When telling the person who was supposed to welcome you she said that is only a request and not guaranteed and that all reservations are tried to be seated within 15 minutes. So after 30 minutes I checked with her and she said still working on her 7:00’s. She will let me know when ready. I reminded her again about window seat, she did not answer. So at this point we figured since taking so long it was ok because they were working on special request. At 7:49PM she told us our table was ready. A booth not by the window. I said no, we waited this long we will wait until a window seat is available. I walked away and again she did not answer. So then in another 10-15 minutes we had our table by the window. But when we got seated waitress said she will be with us but did not wait on us for another 15 minutes. Not use to this type of service at this place. Will go back and hope the regular General Manager is there running the ship.

We went for dinner tonight before a show downtown. They were overwhelmed from the moment we walked in for our reservation. It took one hour for two dinners so we had to take most of it to go. Worst part was the medium rare prime rib was well done. The server just apologized and said they’ve done that with most steaks today. Unfortunately I can’t recommend this place anymore. It used to be wonderful.

I’ve been a loyal customer for 30 years. Last night was the worst service I’ve ever had. Very disappointing! Customers deserve better.
