We've been to quite a few Michelin star restaurants around the world and this has been up there as one of our favorites. The 6 course tasting menu was the perfect amount of food, leaving us quite full but not stuffed to the point of feeling sick. You're seated in a 6 table closed off dining room overlooking the water. We visited in November so it was dark, but I'd image its quite a lovely view in the summer.
We also opted for wine pairing which was a mix familiar wines for us, but mostly new. The sommelier was great at explaining them, as well as answering our questions.
We appreciated the use of local RI and New England ingredients in the dishes, as well as the explanation. Each course the head chef comes out and gives you a quick rundown on what you're about to eat, which honestly is great. Its brief but also descriptive.
Each dish was complex enough, but not overbearing where so much is going on you don't know what you're tasting.
The pacing was also excellent, too many times at fine dining you either feel rushed or it drags on between courses. Neither was the case here.
If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, with fantastic service and most importantly great tasting food, Cara is the place!
