Breathing new life into the iconic 1800s building at 39 Main Street, Mornington, Casa de Playa is a contemporary restaurant, café, tapas bar and events venue that brings the best of the big smoke coffee culture and bar scene to the chic and savvy folks of the east. The menu boasts the bar’s Spanish sensibilities, drawing inspiration from the various countries that are home to Spanish culture. At Casa de Playa restaurant we highlight artisan local producers and imbue traditional tapas with a modern take.

    Sangria was overwhelming clove flavour so unpleasant Paella was mostly chorizo and a few pieces of calamari, overall disappointing for the price Unfortunately, we won’t be back

    Pleasant enough, the food was average, toilets downstairs were filthy – staff might want to direct people up to the clean toilets upstairs. One item ordered was not delivered and was charged for. Probably wouldn’t return.

    Absolutely delicious food at a reasonable price. Groovy music, great ambience, I totally recommend it for a night out in Mornington.

    The food was great, and generous portions. We were sat in a great area in comfy booths. There wasn't many people because it was a monday night, but it was still lovely. The staff were happy to be there and help. Only thing that they could improve in is maybe new lightbulbs as they kept flickering and changing, as well as the table was a bit wobbly (but thats completely fine, it happens.) Thank you so much, we enjoyed it heaps. The churros were amazing and a great amount and value for what we payed same with the nachos. :)

    Hi guys - looked nice and made the booking ...but a lousy place to actually have dinner as it's sooooooooooooooo noisy - had to almost scream to be heard . Great bar it seems but would give a miss for a sit down meal unless your plastered

    Requested the upper levels but when hot there was told there is a wedding so not able to get our request. Would have been nice to have been told that seeing how I spoke with the restaurant on the day to changed the time. The food was amazing and plentiful, but again they had run out of prawns so was disappointed All in all good very good. Was very busy but did not have to wait long for the meals

    Fabulous food - paella was truly delicious. Service was ok, but would be lovely if wait staff had smiles on their faces. They weren’t particularly friendly, which was disappointing. Great food though.

    Would definitely recommend the food here.....especially the Semolina Crusted Calamari! We also shared a Chipotle Chicken Naco dish between 3 of us, and it was delicious as well as being enough :)) The staff were friendly and helpful. Worth a try :)
