The staff were lovely and friendly, and couldn’t do more to please. We shared the Iberica pork croquettes which were beautifully cooked, crispy on the outside, piping hot and full of pork. We followed with piri piri chicken, pork shoulder, green vegetables, green rice and hispi slaw. The chicken was cooked well, which a nice char on the skin, and a good portion size. The pork was too undercooked for us, but was quickly cooked more on request, and was tasty. I found the green rice a bit too oily for my liking. The hispi slaw was crisp, fresh and had a nice dressing, and a really big portion. We both really enjoyed the almond cake with vanilla ice cream.
I initially tried the cheapest house vinho verde, which was meant to have a light spritz. I didn’t find that to be the case, and felt that it could have been slightly more chilled. I then had a glass of a dearer one, which was fine, but again I felt that it could have been chilled more. The house red went well with the pork.
I thought it was good value for money and would go back and give it another go.
