I don’t typically leave reviews or complaints about restaurants, but after multiple great experiences at Casa Cami, I felt compelled to share my disappointment. I’ve dined here two or three times before, sometimes for celebrations and sometimes just for a nice dinner. Until now, I’ve always enjoyed the ambiance, good service, and consistently delicious food.
However, this time was different. I made a reservation for my sister’s bachelorette trip on Valentine’s Day - a night when service should be at its best. This was the first dinner of her trip and we were seated outside, which wasn’t unexpected, but the weather quickly became extremely windy and cold. Despite waiting over 20 minutes before our server even acknowledged us, we politely asked several staff members if they could turn on or move a heater closer to our table of eight. We were repeatedly told “We’ll see what we can do…” ???
After another 45 minutes passed (we finally received our drinks but still no food), we were informed that all four heaters near us were broken. Not only was this frustrating given the chilly weather, but there was also zero lighting near our table. A group of women in their mid-20s had to rely on phone flashlights just to read the menu and eat our food - a completely unacceptable dining experience at a classy rooftop restaurant.
I rarely criticize service, but in this case, I feel it’s necessary. Given that this was a special celebration, I would have expected at least a friendly attitude from our server. Instead, she was noticeably unfriendly, barely checked on us (only coming by twice on her own), and provided no assistance when we asked about the heaters. Her attitude and dismissiveness was truly the icing on the cake for an already disappointing and embarrassing experience.
I hope Casa Cami takes this feedback seriously because I’ve seen how great this restaurant can be, but this particular visit was a major letdown.
