I was incredibly disappointed with my New Year’s Eve experience at Catch in Miami. Having visited their other locations in LA and Las Vegas, which were outstanding, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, this location fell significantly short.
We were a party of six with a 10:30 PM reservation. Despite arriving on time, we weren’t seated until 11:15 PM. By the time the main course was served, it was already midnight. We headed upstairs to watch the fireworks, only to realize the view was obstructed by another building. What little we could see felt like an afterthought rather than a curated experience for guests.
Adding to the disappointment, the service was rushed and inattentive. Our server brought all the food at once, leaving everything cold by the time we returned to the table. When we tried to express our concerns, the waitress was rude, unhelpful, and dismissive. The manager we spoke to showed no effort to resolve our issues or ensure a better experience.
The food quality was another letdown. The main course was subpar and cold, and within minutes, we were rushed into dessert service. It was clear they wanted to clear the table, which made us feel unwelcome.
Moreover, for a venue charging a significant minimum package (including a 20% tip), I expected a lively New Year’s Eve ambiance with a DJ, show, or dancers—something to mark the occasion. Instead, the atmosphere was lackluster and lacked any celebratory vibe.
This was our main plan for New Year’s Eve, and it turned out to be a massive disappointment. Compared to the excellent experiences I’ve had at other Catch locations, Miami was a glaring misstep in both service and quality. I would not recommend this venue for special occasions.
