   Disappointingly Repetitive Flavors and Textures, but Stunning Ambiance I had high hopes for this tapas restaurant, and while the setting was undeniably beautiful, the food itself was underwhelming. The ambiance is definitely the main attraction—breathtaking sunset and moonlight views, paired with stunning architecture that creates a truly enchanting atmosphere. Unfortunately, the dining experience didn’t match the setting. Most of the dishes tasted almost identical, with the same seasoning across the board, making it difficult to distinguish one from another. The textures were also surprisingly uniform—whether seafood, meats, or vegetables, everything had a soft, slightly oily consistency without much contrast. Tapas should be about exploring a variety of flavors and textures, but here, it felt like we were eating different versions of the same dish over and over. If you’re coming for the views and ambiance, it’s worth a visit. If you’re coming for an exciting culinary experience, you might leave a bit disappointed.

   We had a delicious meal here while staying at The Andaz Papagayo Peninsula. The staff was excellent, and the space was beautiful. Our only wish was that the dishes had been spaced out, rather than coming all at once. We ended up getting our food almost before we’d gotten into our cocktails, and all three of the dishes we chose came at once. We were looking for a more leisurely pace, which our server said we could expect to enjoy, but we actually wrapped up in 20 minutes. We ended up ordering another drink and small plate, which we really didn’t need, just to extend our evening. It was a great meal and a special experience, I only wish they had spread out the delivery of the dishes. Maybe order just one at a time, although we were instructed to order all at once.

   Edgar was our server, and he hands down gave us the best service we had during our entire experience at all of the Andaz restaurants. He was attentive, offered wonderful suggestions, and was friendly and detail oriented. We even came back a 2nd time and didn't have him as our server, but he remembered our names and made a point to say hello. He made our experience at Chao Pescao!

   Ordered 2 salads, which were very good, then red snapper and garlic prawns. All the food was quite delicious, baked bananas dessert also great
