   We recently visited The Chequers Inn in Lytchett for a Sunday carvery, and it was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The carvery itself was spot on – generous portions, beautifully cooked meats, and a great selection of fresh, perfectly prepared vegetables. The roast potatoes were crispy and golden, just how they should be, and the Yorkshire puddings were light and fluffy. The gravy tied everything together brilliantly – rich, flavourful, and clearly homemade. Service was friendly and efficient without feeling rushed, and it was clear that the staff take real pride in both the food and the customer experience. It’s not always easy to get a carvery right, but The Chequers Inn absolutely nailed it. Great value for money, great atmosphere, and excellent food. We’ll definitely be back – highly recommended!

   We had the carvery. The food was great, a good choice of vegetables and the meat (beef in our case) was just the right amount of pink. Desserts were tasty too. Service was super friendly and efficient. The new decor is much brighter than before and I loved the gold bench seats.

   The Chequers Inn has recently been renovated and opened under new management. This was our second visit and our experience both times was outstanding. The menu is varied and offers cheaper lunchtime deals in addition to evening meals. The food is tasty, hot and competitively priced given that eating out has increased in price dramatically since Covid. All team members we came across were polite, friendly and knowledgeable and the manager, Ryan, was visible at all times and helped to serve when necessary. The pub had been very popular under previous managers, but attempts to re-open hadn't gone particularly well until now. If our two experiences were anything to go by, it will be well supported by villagers and the place was a hive of activity both for socialising with a drink and eating in the restaurant. Keep up the good work!

   Food was amazing, best rump steak I’ve ever had, tasted like fillet, great value and lots of promotions as well, good selection of beers and other drinks, service good and landlord very friendly

   Went for a mid week roast , it was aboslutly perfect , flavourful and hot lots of choice . Staff very attentive, and the decor is lovely. After a previous bad experience before the refurb this was like night and day. Lytchett Matravers is very lucky to have such a great pub.

   The perfect mothers day lunch, staff were lovely and very helpful. Carvery was very tasty! We were also able to bring our dog, which made for a very happy dog mum! Overall a very nice meal and look forward to coming back!

    Under new management and had a new make over and new staff. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. Will be our new regular.
