Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Staunton VA, The Chop House Tavern elegantly showcases a refined take on Chef Ryan Zale's culinary creativity. Professionally executed by Sous Chef Brendan Almy, guests can expect the signature proteins and menu staples found on our sibling restaurants menus, (Local Chop and Grill House, Harrisonburg VA, and The Chop House Bistro, Luray VA) as well as delicious takes on comfort tavern food classics. The 8oz sirloin steak was top quality meat, grilled perfectly medium rare, served with delicious mashed potatoes, all for $27. Salads were excellent too and very reasonably priced. Top steakhouse at a bargain price, by today’s standards.

Great to see this new restaurant in Staunton that’s managed by experienced team from their Harrisonburg steakhouse. Great steakhouse vibes, food was excellent and well prepared, still working on a few things around service but staff was very attentive. Good selection of wines by the glass but overall wine list is limited for a steakhouse. Hope they expand whiskey/bourbon options and offerings. Definitely the best fine dining option in Waynesboro, Staunton area.

Great look, enjoy the small cozy size and atmosphere. Outstanding server. Steaks under cooked, beef of less than chop house quality. Potatoes and green beans lacked flavor

We were seated in the back room, which is dark and kind of cold. Front of the restaurant is warm and inviting. Two out of three of our entrees were undercooked and were either sent back or not eaten. Waiter was pleasant and helpful. Cocktails were interesting and tasty. If you make a reservation, ask to be seated in the front of the restaurant.
