This review is for their New Year's Eve event. They offered two seatings, one from 6pm-8pm, and one from 9pm-late -- both cost $40 per person to reserve. Due to our group's scheduling restraints, we booked the earlier seating.
When we arrived at 6pm, the place was empty and our hostess didn't even ask if we had a reservation, just pointed us to a large booth. When I mentioned our reservation, she again pointed us to the same booth. This was the first red flag because apparently we could have just walked in, no reservations needed, and not have paid a $40/person cover charge. But okay, fine. We sit down and our server brings us a round of champagne while we look over the drink menu.
The promo flyer (which I just double checked) says "$40 includes your reserved spot, champagne toast, party favors, and a balloon drop!" It also says "Special NYE cocktail menu" -- which we asked about and were given their seasonal winter menu. How is it a special NYE menu if I could have come last week and ordered the same drinks?
We then asked about the party favors and were told that the "favor" was the glass of champagne we just consumed. What? Apparently folks at the later seating would get more fun stuff, which our server sheepishly relayed, perhaps realizing in that moment what a bad deal this was for us. We obviously did not expect a balloon drop for our earlier reservation, but this whole thing was disappointing.
A manager eventually came out and spoke to us and ended up sending another round of champagne, plus a round of shots, though by that time many of us had stopped drinking (after each ordering 2-3 of their cocktails). The fact that both reservation times charged the same cover charge for wildly different experiences felt like a money grab, especially when, at 6pm, we could have just come in without a reservation. I really hope this feedback encourages them to reconsider this event for next year. Thanks.
