Old school cooking and fried chicken for breakfast. Let me explain:

Wether at our location in the rolling hills of beautiful Potrero Hill or our Marina location, which is steps away from the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, C&B perfectly encompasses edgy food and San Francisco's endless local activities. With my father being a Texas native with a Middle Eastern background, our American Brunch menu spills of eclectic ways of pairing fried chicken to an atypical breakfast. From our specialty of Chicken and Waffles to Asian dishes like Nasi Goreng to our tribute to Morocco for their Shakshouka, you’ll find a dish anyone can connect with. Not to mention, my father spent years in search of the perfect pancake recipe (finally!!). And yes, our proteins halal certified. So rest assured, a humane menu is of our top most priority.

                        Everything was tasty. Just wish they had more regular egg dishes not accompanied by fried chicken & waffle. Staff was super friendly; a +. Kinda noisy. Outdoor tables could have heaters. Coffee could also be better. Good value though.

                        Great place for breakfast. Waitress was super friendly and helpful. Frequently came and asked how we were doing. Chicken is really tender and tasty. We’ll definitely come again

                        As devoted brunch enthusiasts and proud San Francisco locals, our visit to Cracked & Battered left us deeply disappointed and disheartened. Our order included a promising wide array of dishes: french toast, pancakes, waffle, chicken, eggs, coffee, potatoes, fries, and orange juice. This place was highly rated so we went all in and were super excited. To start, the coffee I ordered had a hair in it, a hygiene oversight that is simply inexcusable. Adding to the disappointment, the chicken was served cold. The French toast was not just below par; it was so unappetizing that I had to forcibly spit it out. The eggs, ordered with specific preferences (scrambled hard), were improperly cooked, further contributing to our dissatisfaction. What made matters even more disheartening was the owner's complete lack of concern. She appeared indifferent to our concerns and had an attitude that demonstrated a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. Her nonchalant demeanor as we witnessed her casually munching on fries while handling cups and straws, without bothering to wash her hands, was nothing short of alarming. To add to our dismay, flies were everywhere, landing on our food, including our fries. This unsanitary condition in the dining area only exacerbated our unpleasant experience. When I voiced my concerns and politely asked for accommodation, the owner seemed displeased and unwilling to make amends. As loyal locals who cherish the brunch culture in San Francisco, we expected much more from Cracked & Battered. We sincerely hope they take these issues seriously, especially the owner's attitude, the hygiene concerns, and the need for customer satisfaction, and make the necessary improvements to offer a brunch experience that lives up to the standards we hold dear in our community.

                        The stuffed croissant french toast was excellent and rich. Also had the shakshuka which was good, but simple. The hummus plate that came with the egg dish was oddly tart? Decent brunch alternative if you don’t want to wait for Plow down the street.

                        First time going to Cracked & Battered. Will definitely return. My wife and I both ordered the C & B breakfast platter. I substituted the waffles for two lemon ricotta cheese pancakes. We ordered the orange/carrot juice and it was delicious. We arrived early and there wasn’t a wait. I highly recommend this restaurant.
