Da Emma is a hidden Italian gem located right in downtown Montreal. Since the restaurant itself is located below street level, many people pass by this little trattoria every day without realizing it. The only sign for it is painted on a nearby brick wall in black and white and consists entirely of a downward pointing arrow and the word "Emma". It is because it is a little hard to find that diners feel like they are in on a secret not everyone knows about.Inside, Da Emma goes with a sleek and modern style complete with dark wood tones and white tablecloths. The menu consists of both classic and modern Italian plates. Some of the intricate plates that the kitchen puts out include fettucini with porcini mushroom and truffle, veal breast in rosemary sauce, four cheese tortellini in alfredo sauce and house made meatballs in marinara.

    Our server was amazing and highlighted our experience. Food was delicious and we really enjoyed dining in this underground spot with a special history.

    Underwhelming, forgettable experience for the price. I knew to adjust my expectations when they brought out the packaged butter. I tried the agnolotti al ragù, which tasted fine.

    The food is excellent. The place was packed. A table next to us was a little loud. But overall, one of the best restaurants in Montreal.

    J’ai attribué une cote de 3 pour le service, car au début, il m’a semblé un peu trop expéditif. Nous étions même pas à la moitié de notre apéritif que le vine et le repas sont arrivés. Nous nous sommes sentis bousculés.
