elNico is the new rooftop bar and restaurant at Penny Williamsburg, serving imaginative Mexican food and drinks with majestic views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines. The menu is a reflection of Chef Fer Serrano’s Mexican roots and her family’s favorite recipes, with influences drawn from her experience working alongside some of the greatest chefs in the world. With an emphasis on agave-based spirits, the cocktail program under the direction of Leo Robitschek complements the food with fresh, seasonal flavors and locally sourced ingredients. elNico’s dining room and terrace are open for dinner and drinks every day and brunch on weekends.

    Be mindful to arrive when the kitchen is opened. We came between lunch and dinner and had a limited selection of items we could order. The Micheladas were nothing we had expected compared to traditional Micheladas. They have a small and selective list of beers; I would have expected more of a choice at a hotel. The appetizer menu should have included other protein choices beyond beef and pork. A chicken or seafood choice would have been excellent. Reviewing the dinner menu before we left, we saw a limited list of choices topped by the way overpriced carne asada plate at $68.00

    The restaurant, the food, the scenery, the music, the lighting was all 10/10 but the server pulled a move I do not respect to manipulate a tip.

    From the moment you enter you will have an amazing experience. Chic vibe, attentive service & priceless views from the terrace. A must visit & definitely get the guac and chips!

    Amazing … The Waygu tartare and the fried oyster tacos delicious! One of my favorite cocktails the Cranberry Hibiscus Margarita! Great ambience and highly recommended.

    Overall, my experience was a huge disappointment. The food was beyond overpriced for what it’s worth. My bill came out to shy of $400 and it was just us two dining. Not to mention, we were still hungry afterwards. The worst part is that the food was intolerably salty. Especially the wagyu tartare. I won’t be back.

    The ambience is cool. Inside is super quite though i would recommend a light music in the background. The dishes are so small so recommend more variety. Drinks are cool but too expensive
