This was our second visit to Estabulo and unfortunately not as good as our first experience. We tried to contact the restaurant multiple times via phone and email to discuss accessibility needs but couldn’t get through.
It was clearly a stressful night for staff, very busy, issues with card machine leading to a long queue through the restaurant to pay (blocking the exit and people stood right by diners’ tables), and the fire alarm going off several times.
One of the highlights of our last visit was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. On this visit, the staff felt cold and distracted, and barely spoke to us. One server was so disinterested and robotic, he forgot what he was offering. The lady who served us drinks was the most friendly.
The rate at which fresh meats came over varied wildly, with sometimes everything coming at once and other times, waiting ages with no servers on the floor at all. The table next to us were frequently missed and weren’t getting anything at one point. Certain servers never came to us at all.
The food was generally good, though there didn’t seem to be as much diversity as the last time we visited, with the same meats coming round too often. We didn’t eat the dessert, it wasn’t great and we didn’t feel it was worth the calories, and much preferred the valentines dessert from last year.
I appreciate it was a busy night and dealing with various issues, but the mood set by the staff (possibly from the management) was pretty miserable and depressing. It felt like nobody wanted to be there. The bar staff all had very worried looks on their faces.
Such a shame as our experience the year before was wonderful, not sure we’ll visit again 😞
