We made a reservation for Famoso for a date night on New Year's Eve, as we did not know how many people would be there on a night like that. We were kindly greeted at the door, and quickly realized the reservation was not necessary (there were 6 people in the restaurant).
The server was friendly and prompt, and made suggestions according to our taste. We ordered appetizers and entrées based off his recommendations, and drink orders as well.
A few minutes after making our drink orders, I went to the bar to change one of the appetizers, and saw a waitress grab her debit machine, a random pen, a piece of paper from her pocket, and her phone to send a text. This is important, because immediately after grabbing these items, without washing her hands, she grabbed 2 straws, by the tips, placed them in the glasses of our drinks, stirred them, and walked away. She might as well have rubbed the straws on the ground before placing them in the drinks. I was disgusted and asked our waiter to replace them, to which I received a confused look and a "why?". After explaining, he reluctantly replaced them.
We ordered the prosciutto wrapped mozza balls and half ceasar salad for appetizers. The 3 mozza balls were absolutely drowned in tomato sauce, and was an adventure trying to fish them out. They were small, and very, very salty. The ceasar was also doused in dressing, making the lettuce soggy in short time.
We ordered the Siciliana meat lover's pizza, with added arugula. The pizza was great and cooked well from the crust to 2/3 towards the center, but the middle 1/3 was really soggy and undercooked. I believe it was due to all the ingredients being haphazardly placed in the middle, with few ingredients being spread to the outer edges. It was underwhelming to say the least.
Overall, the best part of the dining experience was notnthe food, but the waiter. The food left a lot to be desired, was overpriced, over dressed, and over salted. We will unfortunately not be coming back.
