Inspired by the rich culinary history of the Bue Grasso (fat ox) Festival of Carrù Italy, Fat Ox serves modern interpretations of traditional Italian dishes from acclaimed local Chef /owner Matt Carter.

The sleek 7,000 sq/ft restaurant features hand made pastas crafted in house daily, slow-roasted meats and seafood, an international wine list and a full craft cocktail bar to make for a truly special experience.

The newly renovated front patio and our beautiful courtyard patio are the perfect place to enjoy the fall weather.

Fat Ox boasts both private- and semi-private, as well as indoor and outdoor options for hosting your special events. Behind a beautiful sliding wooden doors imported from Italy, our Rosso Room provides a private space for up to 50 seated guests, with an outdoor patio that is perfect for a standing or seated cocktail reception and/or seating for an additional 50 guests. The Fireplace room can seat up to 40 guests with a curtain providing visual separation from the restaurant for a semi-private event. Our chefs can craft a tasting, choice of or family-style menu from our award-wining Modern Italian cuisine that will wow your guests.

We sampled about six dishes and every single dish was delicious. Will definitely be back. Service was friendly and efficient. Great atmosphere. Music vibe was a tad off and a bit loud for the older crowd.

Hi! I am a local of Scottsdale & I know the MGR at this restaurant. Very nice guy and great ambiance. The service was fantastic but my pasta was cold, it took forever to get a drink, the table water was warm and the portions are SO small. I don’t understand why you would provide a normal size plate for a very small entree portion. Also, my gnocchi pasta was hard and I asked for the meat to be removed and she told me that could not happen. That’s not true b/c the meat was on top of the pasta. I give this restaurant a 2 out 5. I will be back for happy hour but not dinner:( Take Care:(

Always an amazing experience here. I’ve dined here several times and each time I am wowed. This time we came for a birthday celebration and Cole, took amazing care of us.

Two newish pastas are fantastic: 1) saffron spaghetti and 2) butternut squash. The chef is hitting home runs.

The food is very good. The staff work hard to please the guests. The only negative thing was that it was a bit noisy on my recent visit. I'd been there before, sat in a different area, and don't recall it being as noisy. Maybe location in the restaurant makes a difference.

When your waiter sees your purse fell on the floor and puts a towel under it like Brent did you are impressed! Everything exceeded our expectations.

We dined this evening at the Fat Ox after hearing good things, so we had high expectations. When we arrived the service was quick and attentive and we were seated right away. At this point our server Brandt greeted us and walked us through the menu, providing very helpful recommendations. He took a lot of time and was clearly very passionate about the food and the restaurant. I won’t highlight everything we had, but Brandt was absolutely spot on with his suggestions. Our group agreed that it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The chicken was absolutely incredible. The food was perfect, the service was amazing and it absolutely resulted in a memorable night with my family. I cannot recommend the Fat Ox enough, and if you’re lucky enough to get Brandt as your server, you will have an incredible night. He made the night extremely special. Go to the Fat Ox. You will not regret it.

10/10 would recommend again! Our server Krissi was extremely knowledgeable and had multiple amazing recommendations. We had a little idea of what we wanted and she solidified that by giving us positive affirmation with our choices. We got the prosciutto, which was apparently on a 4 year waitlist, and it was well worth the wait! The seasonal homemade gnocchi was phenomenal and the beef literally melted in your mouth. My girlfriend got the scallops that were cooked to perfection paired will a delicious sauce. I received the rib eye and I was ravaging it down to the bone. We finished with the chocolate bombe and even though we were stuffed from dinner, we couldn’t put down the spoon when eating dessert. We celebrated our two year anniversary and they brought a glass on Prosecco to cheers.
